Put to Light technology optimizes the sorting phase of items to individual orders, overturning the logic of traditional picking. The operator collects a batch of items in batch mode and brings them to a Put to Light workstation. Here, light displays indicate in which container to place each item, corresponding to a specific customer order.
The main advantage is the reduction in travel time: by collecting multiple items in a single mission and distributing them in a few seconds, the operator works faster and more efficiently. This leads to a lower average processing time per order and an overall improvement in productivity.
Accuracy is also high: the lights guide the operator in the correct allocation, reducing errors and ensuring reliable deliveries even when orders are very similar.
Put to Light is a scalable technology, adaptable to variable volumes and different warehouse layouts. It is ideal for e-commerce environments characterized by many “light” orders, with few SKUs but very high order volumes. As with Pick to Light, operator training is also fast in this case: the visual interface allows good productivity levels to be reached quickly.
